Recognition Mode
Goal: Match the target 3D shape to one of the choices below it.
How to play:
- Examine the target shape at the top.
- Rotate shapes by dragging with your mouse/finger to view from different angles.
- Click the "Choose" button below the shape that matches the target.
- Get correct answers to increase your score and streak!
Tips: Pay close attention to the number and arrangement of cubes. Some shapes may look
similar from certain angles.
Difficulty settings (top toolbar):
- Memory — controls when the target is visible:
- Simultaneous — target stays on screen with the choices (easiest).
- Delayed (5s view) — target disappears after 5 seconds; recall it from memory.
- Delayed (3s + 2s gap) — target visible 3 s, then a 2 s blank gap before the choices appear (highest working-memory load).
- Mirror — include a mirror-image distractor (tests chirality / handedness).
- Parts — include a part-permuted distractor: same pieces, rearranged (tests configural binding).
- Perspective — render choices from different viewpoints than the target (tests perspective-taking).
- Expert — larger, more complex shapes (15–25 voxels in a 10×10×10 grid; high topological complexity).
